I did five runs but didn’t bother to turn on my GPS app until a guy on the chairlift told me a sub 4 minute run was “really fast”. I managed 3:57 while avoiding some kids and not skiing like a total Jerry and just pointing it without actually turning.

Nice! where are you skiing at?....if i can get out of the office in the next 20mins I might get a one and done run myself today! I need to find a new ski tracking app, although I find they become dangerous when I ski alone as I keep trying to go faster and faster.

What app? I tried the Navionics ski app and it died on me after a few runs last week. Not sure if the cold, the app or a random glitch. I tried to take a picture at the top of a run and the phone turned off showing it needed to be plugged in. Once I got back to the truck it fired up as soon as it plugged in and still had 65-70% battery.

It’s called ski tracks, it eats batteries too so I don’t bother to use it much unless I’m sking by myself and trying to bench mark some runs.

The app is Ski Tracks, this is Whitefish Mountain Resort in north west Montana.

I work in town so it’s basically 30 minutes from when I walk out the door to when I’m ontop of the mountain. I really like it here.

Nice, I live and work in a Ski town as well. 2.3 miles from my office door is the nearest slope. OK now to get out of here and get a Back Country run in with the dog before the sun goes down.

It’s the bench marking that made me stop tracking. I was always trying to go faster on my skis then I did in my car on the way to ski.

Just get a cycling or running gps device and use it as your tracker. I upload all of my workouts/outdoor activities to Strava. It’s heavily used by cyclists, but it allows you to tag events from running to kayaking to downhill skiing.

North shore of Lake Tahoe (that’s Tahoe in the back ground), I climbed up from one of the roads at the top Incline Village. Only got maybe 600-700 vert ft in....the sun was going down fast so i didn’t go as high up as i could have.

I’ve skied northstar and kirkwood. That’s it. so many people at Northstar, and kind of a lame mountain. I loved Kirikwood.

I have Passes at Mnt. Rose, and Diamond Peak they are the closest to me and it’s easier to avoid the crowds when you can just pop in and out. Today I just skinned up the hill above my house and came back down....now that it’s finally light out past 5pm.
